A Beach. By Ava
I am learning to use punctuation in my story.
Success Criteria:
- Start my sentences with capital letters
- End my sentences with full stops
- Put a full stop after one idea
- Put a capital letter after a full stop
I am learning to write a recount
- have an introduction that says who, what, when, where,why and how
- has a body with events written in order
- Has a personal comment
I went to the beach because it was sunny and it was hot. We splashed. I went to the rock pools and I saw a starfish with my family. It was golden. My dad and my Mum sat under the Pohutukawa tree as the leaves fell down on them.my sisters and my brother were splashing in the waves. It was warm water. We were going up and down. It was fun
Ava, I enjoyed reading your writing and I could see your family at the beach in my head. I like the way you started your writing with a capital letter and ended it with a full stop. You have tried to use full stops throughout your writing. Remember to reread your writing as you are writing and listen for where there is a pause and put a full stop there. After the full stop remember to use a capital letter to start the next sentence.
